The Head Office Curriculum

The Head Office curriculum

In 2020 we developed The Head Office Curriculum, in consultation with experts in the field, referencing international research, linking to the New Zealand Curriculum and alongside our cluster schools.   Our Head Office curriculum integrates the principles, values and key competencies from The New Zealand Curriculum through the lens of effective practice in gifted education.  It facilitates important components into the learning which include: Density - faster pacing; Difficulty - complexity; Depth - in depth exploration and reflection; and Diversity - exploring associated possibilities.  Within the programme students delve into differentiation in content, process, product and on an affective level.

The key difference between our programme and gifted education in schools is:
  • the ability to provide choice about what is learnt and how to demonstrate that learning,
  • access to peers with similar interests and abilities,
  • offering children, who often feel different, a place where they belong, and
  • discussions on understanding giftedness on a personal development level, and what it means to be a gifted learner in the world.

The Head Office curriculum is delivered by Taranaki educators for the Taranaki community, while also placing value on effective practice and international trends, nationally and internationally.

The Head Office programme will replace the MindPlus programme that is currently delivered in our classes from Term 1 2021 onwards. If you child is currently enrolled with us there is no need to reapply, your enrolment will continue.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors and donors for their continuous support:
